China ordered all milk products more than a month old pulled from store shelves for emergency testing, as another child in Hong Kong developed kidney stones after eating melamine-contaminated products, and a Thai company recalled packaged cookies.

由于香港又发现一儿童使用含三聚氰胺的奶制品后出现肾结石，一家泰国公司也召回袋装饼干，中国立刻下达紧急通知，要求所有9月14日前生产的奶制品下架停止销售，并进行检验。

China"s move Tuesday was the largest blanket withdrawal of milk products since infant formula laced with the industrial chemical killed four infants and sickened tens of thousands of children nationwide.

自发现婴幼儿配方奶粉中含有危险化学物质，并且造成全国范围内四名婴儿死亡，数万婴儿染病后，本周二中国政府首次下达如此大范围的撤柜通知。

All milk powder and liquid milk produced before September 14 must be tested by manufacturers nationwide, China"s official Xinhua News Agency reported, citing a notice jointly approved by six government ministries and administrations.

据新华社报道，全国所有9月14日前生产的奶粉和液态奶必须全部按卫生部等6部门联合发布三聚氰胺临时管理限量值标准进行检验。

"Regardless of the brand or the batch, they must be taken off shelves. Their sale must be stopped," Xinhua said.

新华社表示，"无论品牌、批次，必须立即全部下架并停止销售。"

The notice said the products will be sold again only after they pass quality tests and are labeled as safe.

此次通知表示经检验符合限量值规定的，才能重新上架销售。

The Xinhua report did not give any other details or say why the new testing was ordered now.

The notice is the latest in a series of measures Beijing has taken to allay worries over the quality of Chinese products and restore consumer confidence since the uproar began last month.Authorities have blamed dairy suppliers for the crisis, saying they added the industrial chemical melamine to watered-down milk to fool quality control tests and make the product appear rich in protein.Melamine can cause kidney stones as the body tries to eliminate it and, in extreme cases, lead to life-threatening kidney failure. Infants are particularly susceptible.

Also Tuesday, Hong Kong"s government said a 2-year-old boy developed two kidney stones after consuming melamine-laced milk and cookies.

本周二，香港政府表示一名2岁的男孩因食用了含有三聚氰胺的牛奶和饼干，被发现长有两块肾结石。

In mainland China, only some types of milk powder and milk have been recalled so far. It is not clear why the cutoff date for the latest notice is Sept. 14, but China launched a countrywide inspection of dairy producing facilities focusing on milk collecting centers on September 15.

在中国大陆，目前仅有奶粉和液态奶被召回。尚不清楚为何召回的奶制品以9月14日做截止日期，但从9月15日开始，中国政府开始对奶制品加强把关。
