I’m dreaming of a Nottingham Christmas
Expect all manner of continental treats in Nottingham this Christmas, with the return of the German Christmas Market. The perfect place to take a stroll, get involved with the festive fervour and pick up some unique gifts for friends and family.
Delights such as wooden toys, nutcrackers, clocks and lanterns, through to jewellery and glassware will all be available to purchase. Plus there’s a wonderful selection of edible treats available too. Sample the festive goodies on offer, from Christmas cookies and gingerbread to speciality breads and smoked sausages. Tick off your Christmas shopping list and go ice skating around the ice rink, then relax with a warm Glühwein. (hot red wine)
The German Market is situated right next to the Victoria Centre Ice Rink and has become something of a Christmas tradition in Nottingham.
The sights and aromas of the market from Frankfurt, with 30 stalls selling traditional German specialities has become an annual treat to look forward to. With all the Christmas decorations and carols, it is difficult not to feel the Christmas spirit that is wafting through the town.
The University students also like to partake in the spirit of Christmas. Christmas shoppers will have an opportunity to purchase work by a team of talented Nottingham fashion and textile designers. Last year, shoppers were able to pick up perfect Christmas gifts such as scarves, mittens, hats, bedsocks, cushions and bags, all in the season’s hottest colours. This years range is still a surprise but is tipped to be even more impressive than last year!
And finally….Christmas in Nottingham would not be complete without seeing a show at one of our stunning theatres. This year, you can choose between Cinderella or Aladdin. The theatre as you have never seen it before. Merry Christmas everybody!
