Strong electricity and week electricity

At first, I though that the strong electricity refers to the power with high voltage or high current. In fact, it is a wrong definition. In our major, the definition of the electricity is focus on the function. Strong electricity is used as a kind of power energy, but week electricity is used for information transfer.

According to the fundamental principle that weak electric conduct signal, strong electric conduct energy, we can easily distinguish heavy current from weak current. For example, although electric razor, flashlight get electricity from only two dry cells (3 v), but we can"t consider it as low voltage class because of using small electric voltage current the transmission is power rather than the signal, so it should belong to high voltage class

That means what we used in houses; the 220V electricity belongs to strong electricity. Then the audio lines, video lines, network lines and telephone lines belong to week electricity. Theses lines’ voltage usually less than 32 V. The signal input of the telephone, computer and TV are all in low voltage electricity equipment. In addition, the strong electricity lines shouldn’t be set with week electricity lines in a same pipe. Because strong electricity creates a heavy magnetic field which affects data transmission of the week electricity.

FREQUENCY

A important difference we should consider is the frequency of electricity. The frequency of strong electricity is usually 50 HZ, which we called “power frequency”. The industrial power frequency is widely used in industrial production and resident life. In comparison to strong electricity, week electricity always have high frequency or ultrahigh frequency. That is because higher the current frequency is, can carry more information.

Transmission Mode

Here are the second main differences between strong electricity and week electricity. As we can see strong electricity transmit by transmission line. Unlike strong electricity, week electricity has more methods to be transported. Like the wire transmission and wireless transmission. Radio is transmitted by electromagnetic waves.

Hai: Yeah, I know. The word is “electric”. Our major is electric automation exactly. In the teacher’s words, we are the electrical engineers. With the rapid development of computer science, electronic technology has more significance for automation.

根据弱电传导信号,强电传导电能的根本原则,我们很容易就可以把强电与弱电区分开来了。比如,虽然电动剃须刀、手电筒等用电只是两节干电池(3V,我们不能因为用电器电压电流小,就认为是弱电类,因为传导的是电能而不是信号,所以应该属于强电类

高压一定包括强电,强电不一定属于高压;

低压一定包括弱电,弱电一定属于低压;

低压不一定就是强电,强电不一定就是低压。
