Knut the polar bear is no less than an international superstar. He needs an agent to keep up with his fame and popularity and the Berlin zoo authorities are cashing in on it. Kelly Wallace reports.

What Knut, the polar bear needs is an agent. Seems everyone wants a piece of the darling of the Berlin Zoo. He became an international superstar after animal rights activists said he would be better-off dead than raised by humans.
He now has his own song, sung by a 9-year-old named Kitty and available on CD. It goes something like this: “Everyone is so fond of Knut, so glad you exist.”
The world-famous maker of Gummy Bears has gotten into the act introducing a marshmallow tree called “the knuddel Knut”, his nickname in Germany.
You did expect stuffed animals even postcards. But a bank debit card featuring the adorable little cub?
Zoo officials can hardly keep up with all the requests to market Kunt.
We are not really in a position to control what’s happening on the market at present, said this zoo’s director. He added the zoo is prepared to take a legal action if trademark rights are violated.
The four-month doll who was abandoned by his mother at birth seems unfazed by all the hoopla and all those visitors. It hasn’t gone to his head yet.
